1
Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Poqe mobile application and describes how information is handled when you use
features such as creating capsules, adding tags or emotional notes, scheduling unlock dates, reviewing outcomes,
writing replies to your future self, and changing app settings.
This policy applies to the current version of the app. If Poqe later introduces cloud sync, shared workspaces,
hosted backups, or account-based features, this policy may be updated before those features are offered.
2
Information We Process
Poqe may process the following categories of information in order to provide its core experience:
- Capsule content you create, such as titles, body text, tags, emotional notes, predictions, outcomes, replies, and unlock schedules.
- Preference and security settings, such as notification choices, motion settings, haptic preferences, and app lock options.
- Permission states and local usage records shown inside the app, including whether notifications, photo access, or microphone access are enabled.
- Files or media you intentionally provide, such as image attachments or voice recordings, if those features are used in a future or extended version.
- Exported data you intentionally generate, such as structured JSON or document-style exports for backup or personal archiving.
In the current app design, this information is primarily handled on-device. Poqe does not rely on a mandatory remote account,
advertising profile, or social graph to deliver core functionality.
3
How Information Is Used
Poqe uses information to operate and improve the app experience for you on your device, including to:
- Save, display, edit, unlock, compare, and reseal your time capsules.
- Generate reminders, timelines, version snapshots, and reflective summaries based on your own entries.
- Remember your settings and privacy-related preferences between sessions.
- Support optional exports that you explicitly trigger for backup, migration, or personal record-keeping.
- Provide local security controls and interface behavior such as reduced motion, notification preferences, or haptic feedback preferences.
4
Permissions and Device Features
Poqe may request certain device permissions only when a related feature is used or enabled by you:
- Notifications: used for unlock reminders, pending capsule reminders, or reply reminders.
- Photos: used only when you choose to attach or import an image.
- Microphone: used only when you choose to create a voice-based entry or recording.
If app lock or device-level authentication is enabled, the authentication process is handled by your device operating system.
Poqe does not receive your biometric template from Apple or store raw biometric data.
5
Storage, Sharing, and Transfers
In the current version, Poqe is designed to store core app data locally on your device, including app settings and capsule data.
Based on the existing implementation, app data is written to an application support folder on-device and is not routinely uploaded to Poqe servers as part of normal use.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your capsule content for advertising purposes.
You control sharing in the following limited cases:
- If you export content, the exported file may be stored, copied, or shared according to the actions you choose.
- If you use operating system features such as device backup, external file storage, or third-party sharing tools, those services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices.
Because the current experience is local-first, cross-border data transfers are not part of normal app operation unless you initiate a transfer through another service or platform.
6
Retention and Deletion
Poqe keeps your locally stored data until you delete it, reset the app, remove specific content, or uninstall the app, subject to how your device and operating system manage application storage and backups.
- You may delete individual content or clear stored capsule data through app controls when available.
- If you export data before deletion, the exported copy may continue to exist wherever you saved or shared it.
- If a device backup exists outside the app, you may also need to manage that backup separately.
7
Security
We aim to support a privacy-centered and security-conscious product design. The app favors local storage, minimal external disclosure, and user-controlled permissions. However, no device, platform, or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for protecting access to your device, keeping your operating system updated, and using any available device security features, such as a passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, or encrypted backups, where appropriate.
8
Children's Privacy
Poqe is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly design the current app experience to collect personal information from children through a hosted account system. If you believe a child has provided personal information in a context that creates a privacy concern, please contact us.
9
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app, legal requirements, or product architecture. When we do, we will post the revised version with an updated effective date. Your continued use of Poqe after the revised policy becomes effective means you accept the updated policy.
